Drawings

In an effort to use my phone less, I implemented a rule for myself in Fall 2021: No phone on the train. I picked up drawing for the first time since childhood, as a creative, meditative way to fill the time, and a practice in observation. As a former super-commuter, I used to joke that my train time was “field research” — it turns out it was more true than I realized. Now a habit on and off the train, below are some of my favorite recent sketches.
